Chris Royal proved to be a big hit with the judges when he performed on The Voice this evening.
The wannabe has previously supported Ne-Yo and Josh groan on tour but he’s keen to make it on his own. So keen, that he’s moved from his home in Manchester and relocated to London in a bid
He told the team:
“I have been singing since I was a little boy. My mum used to take me to holiday camps and to the talent shows. I won one or two.”
“A year ago I decided to move to London. My decision was based purely on music. I have had jobs but I am unfortunately I’m not working anymore. I am not going to lie and say it’s easy, especially on my own.”
“Singing in front of these four coaches could be the break that I need. This opportunity is priceless, I need to make the most of it.”
Chris sang Wake Me Up for the panel and before the end of the song Ricky Wilson, Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue turned in their seats.
“That just got better and better and you ended up stronger at the end. I think you’re great.”
He continued his pitch saying:
“I have been around a long time, I know a lot of singers and maybe I could help you move in a direction you haven’t even tried yet. I’d pick the right material for you because that is very important.”
Kylie waded in then and said:
“Your voice is like honey, that was so good. If we were to work together we would go through your record collection, get to know who you are, spend some time together and you’re ready to go to the next level.”
However it was Ricky who landed Chris for his team as he raved:
“I would do the same as those two only more and better. ….You tell me how far you wanna go, where you want to go and we will do it together and I will not give up until you have won this.”
