Leah McFall will be returning to our TV screens this weekend, making an appearance on The Voice UK battle rounds.
The Belfast born singer finished in second place on last year’s series of the BBC show, just behind eventual winner Andrea Begley. During her time on the show she won the backing of stars such as Cheryl Cole, Rochelle Humes, Natasha Hamilton and Holly Willoughby.
Andrea released her debut album last year and charted in the UK top ten, however Leah is expected to drop her record next month, so now is the perfect time to make her television return.
The 24 year old will be assisting her old mentor Will.i.am at battle rounds this weekend, helping to coach his 2014 hopefuls as they prepare to go head to head with one another on stage.
In an interview with The Sun she admitted that it’s ‘so strange to be at the other side of the piano.’
“I can’t believe I’ve got this far and done my whole album now with Will.
Leah released the video for one of her album tracks ‘No Ordinary Love’ earlier this month and revealed that it was the first song she wrote with Will.i.am when they jetted to LA together last summer.
We are expecting to hear more tunes soon, as McFall recently revealed she would release three music videos before her first official single and album are released.
This weekend all four coaches will have familiar faces helping them with the battle round preparations. Kylie Minogue has drafted in her old pal, Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears, Ricky Wilson will be helped by singer / songwriter Katy B and Sir Tom Jones has overlooked fellow Welsh star Cerys Matthews for a change and asked Tinie Tempah to step in.
Meanwhile, Team Ricky have got together to record a fun video ahead of Saturday’s Battle Rounds.
Singers such as Jamie Lovatt, Luciee Marie Closier, Jazz Bates-Chambers, Nathan Amzi, Emily Adams, Chris Royal, Max Murphy, Kelsey-Beth Crossley, Beth McCarthy, Myles Evans, Christina Marie and Tila and Tavelah Robinson teamed up to film The Kaiser Chief’s hit song I Predict A Riot.
This Saturday the group will be whittled almost in half as they are paired with one another and forced to sing a duet in the knowledge that their coach can only choose one to progress to the knockout round. The outgoing singer only has one hope for survival and the other coaches are permitted to steal one eliminated member before the end of the battles.
