Jade Mayjean Peters set the stage on fire when she performed on The Voice last weekend, but it turns out it’s not the first time she’s tried out for a talent show.
The stunning singer rendered Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson speechless with her curvy figure, bouncy blonde curls and dress split to her thigh on Saturday night’s show, but it seems Simon Cowell wasn’t so strongly affected by the siren.
Jade had all four coaches vying for her when she sang ‘Sweet About Me’ on the BBC show, but it didn’t go so well when she sang on the X Factor four years ago.
She told new! magazine:
“I did The X Factor in 2010 and got to Boot Camp stage, but I was never shown on TV, so that was a bit disappointing. But everything happens for a reason and it’s better this way.”
Will.i.am was desperate to land Jade Mayjean for his team and tried everything in his power when making his pitch.
However, despite being wooed by the Black Eyed Peas’ star, in the end the 21 year old beauty was more comfortable working with another lady and she opted to join Team Kylie.
The decision surprised even Jade and she admitted:
“I’ve always really listened to Will.i.am’s music, but when Kylie turned round and I saw her reaction, there was no question. I wasn’t even swayed to go anywhere else – she drew me in, we had a connection! ”
“I can’t really relate much to Ricky because I don’t know him that well. I wouldn’t listen to his music. Tom Jones is a legend but I didn’t feel like my voice would benefit from working with him.”
Wilson was full of praise for Jade at the recent blind auditions. He raved:
“I pressed the button and didn’t look, because I didn’t need to look, I just wanted to carry on listening to it because I was enjoying it so much. But now I’ve looked and it’s complete really.”
