Billboard Music Awards 2015: Nominees, Live Stream & more…

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards air this evening on ABC, and you do not want to miss the show. That may or may not be because Taylor Swift is kicking off proceedings with the premiere of her new video, which you do want to see.

So, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about the show in one handy, neat little article. The nominees, what time the show is on, and where to watch it. Just thank us later…

Wait! What are the Billboard Music Awards?

Just in case you have been living under a rock, the Billboard Music Awards is a ceremony held annually in America, which celebrates the past 12 months in music by handing out gongs to the best of the best in the music industry. Thank of a lightweight GRAMMYs…

Five finalists (nominees to you and I) are selected in each category and one of them will win the award for their respective category during the show.

The Billboard Music Awards features categories such as Top Male Artist, Top New Artist, Top Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, Top Touring Artist etc.

Who is leading the way this year then?

Taylor Swift is leading the way with a whopping 14 nominations, but that comes as absolutely no surprise as her latest album, 1989, which was released in October, has blown up the Billboard charts since it was released. Not to mention, the album has done incredibly well all across the world.

It has also been an incredible year for Sam Smith and his debut album, In the Lonely Hour, as he is just behind Taylor Swift with 13 nominations. Iggy Azalea has 12 nominations, whilst Meghan Trainor has nine.

A full list of ‘finalists’ is featured at the bottom of this article.

So, when are the Billboard Music Awards on?

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards air this evening at 8/7 on ABC, so make sure you tune in to see if your favourites win any awards.

Can I watch online?

Sure! You can stream the ceremony live via ABC’s website, but you have to be in the US to watch the stream. For those of you outside of the USA who want to stay up until the small hours of the morning (depending on where you are in the world, of course), you can follow all the latest updates on Facebook and Twitter.

Or Periscope… ahem!

Are there any performers?

Well, it wouldn’t be an awards ceremony without some performances. Although not all performances have been confirmed, it is thought the likes of Pink, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas, Kelly Clarkson, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, and Ed Sheeran will all be performing throughout the ceremony.
