Could Cheryl be making her triumphant return to The X Factor with boyfriend Liam Payne?
According to reports, after leaving the show in 2015, Simon Cowell is now desperate to have Cheryl return to the talent search this year and supposedly wants Liam to tag along too.
After laying seriously low over the past year after confirming her romance and then welcoming her first child, son Bear, with the One Direction star, it’s said that Cowell is hoping to entice her back to the spotlight and is willing to pay her a hefty sum to do so.
“Simon wants to pull out all the stops for this year’s show, and bagging Cheryl’s long-awaited return to telly would be one of his top wishes,” a source told Daily Star this week, alleging that he’s offered her £50,000 to come back.
They even alleged that he’s also extended his offer to the star’s boyfriend Liam, claiming that having the two on the show together would be “telly gold.”
But while sources are alleging that Cowell wants the former Girls Aloud singer and her man back on board, it’s not thought that she would take back her judging seat.
The judges – made up of Simon, Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger – have already been confirmed and have started the audition process, meaning Cheryl and Liam would more than likely take on mentor roles, possibly at Cowell’s judges houses.
But while nothing is confirmed just yet, if the couple to make an appearance on the show where they first met it’s thought that it could be a lavish affair.
If they do make an appearance at judge’s houses they could be doing it in serious style as reports claimed last week that Simon is allegedly looking to book Highclere Castle in Berkshire for his judges houses this year, which just so happens to be the castle used for Downton Abbey.
