Cheryl Cole has reportedly inked an American record deal worth £6 million.
The Promise This jetted out to LA on Wednesday and returned to her X Factor duties last night and insiders say it was a fruitful trip.
After her last single stormed the charts, becoming the fastest-selling single of 2010 in the UK, Universal is said to have got in touch and requested a meeting asap.
The Sun reports that the deal will see her release new album Messy Little Raindrops in the States next year, followed by a further two albums.
A source told the newspaper:
Cheryl got a call from some very senior people at Universal saying they wanted to see her.
They are the kind of people who when they say, ‘Jump’, you ask, ‘How high?
So she jumped on a plane and went to LA for 36 hours. Derek (Hough) was there to ferry her to and fro and give her support as these big execs can be quite scary.
Cheryl’s second single from Messy Little Raindrops is titled “The Flood” and will be released later this year.
