Jahmene Douglas will miss Tulisa on X Factor 2013 & he’d rather have Diana Ross than Sharon Osbourne!

Jahmene Douglas has admitted that he will miss Tulisa Contostavlos on this year’s series of The X Factor.

The N Dubz star was dropped from the lineup recently and replaced by former judge Sharon Osbourne and not a minute too soon apparently, because just days after the news broke the brunette beauty was arrested after an undercover reporter for The Sun accused her of helping to set up an illegal drug deal.

In an interview with Digital Spy Douglas claimed that Tulisa’s absence would be felt when the show returns to ITV later this summer and he explained:

‘I’ll miss Tulisa, she was really nice. She keeps it real backstage – she’s a London girl.

‘Last year’s panel were all really nice, but it obviously needs to evolve. Maybe it’ll give Tulisa more time to focus on her music.’

Jahmene isn’t sure Simon Cowell made the right call with Sharon Osbourne either.

He admitted that he’d rather have seen a real legendary singer and performer on the show and revealed that he was hoping for a stint from someone like Diana Ross or Stevie Wonder.

He continued:

‘I was hoping they’d bring in a real legend for the panel, like Diana Ross or something. Or maybe a guest spot each week that they change.

Stevie Wonder would be great. You need someone whose greatness can’t be denied.’

However he still wants to meet Shaz at some point and he thinks the X factor will help her get over her recent personal troubles.

‘I’d love to meet her,’ he said.

‘I love crazy! The gossip is she’s on rocky roads with Ozzy at the moment. Maybe she needs a break from that.’

Meanwhile, Jahmene has been hard at work promoting his new tunes and we have part 1 of 3 of the star’s acoustic sessions here. The Swindon lad covered the track “Fix You.” and it’s been described as ‘lushly gospel, full of hope and carries hidden meaning.’

Douglas said:

‘It’s a beautiful song lyrically and the idea of doing it with a choir has given it a fresh sound. It’s about growth, believing in a higher love to pick yourself up, learning, growing and holding onto hope rebuilding what you need to carry on.’
