One Direction 2013: A chef will accompany Harry, Zayn, Niall, Liam and Louis on world tour to stop them eating junk food!

One Direction in US charts

It was revealed earlier this year that the One Direction boys, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, were on a health kick and had been taking time to visit the gym and had been laying off the booze…

All of which was designed to get the lads into top condition for the rigours of their world tour, which will of course see the band playing gigs all over the globe in what looks to me like a seriously hefty schedule.

And today, it’s been reported that in order to stop the boys eating junk food, their managers have hired a chef to travel with them during the tour.

The Daily Mirror reports, “Concerned that the boys aren’t getting their five a day, management has asked the catering team to dish up a range of uber-healthy food.

“Top cook Sarah Nicholas, who runs Sarah’s Kitchen, will be joining Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis and Zayn on tour, serving up nutritious meals.”

A source close to the band said, “Sarah worked with the guys on their last tour and became like a surrogate mum for them all, particularly Harry…

“She tries to offer the boys their favourite foods but healthier versions of them, using natural, often organic ingredients. They particularly like Mexican food.

“With 1D’s hectic schedule and gruelling lifestyles, it’s essential they eat properly and start looking after themselves.

“This basically means Sarah has been charged with getting more fruit and veg down them, and staving off colds as much as possible.

“They’re currently drinking loads of smoothies.”

Chef Sarah has apparently previously worked with JLS, Olly Murs, Il Divo and Jedward in order to introduce them to healthy food.

1D are of course on the UK leg of their Take Me Home world tour right now, and have been performing live in venues up and down the country.

Here’s a reminder of one of their recent gigs…
