Simon Cowell has signed up Sharon Osbourne & Ashleigh Butler to judge new dog talent show, Take the Lead!

X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent guru Simon Cowell has put his money where his mouth is in terms of burying the hatchet with former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne by signing her up as a judge on his new pooch talent quest, Take the Lead…

So this pilgrim is keeping everything crossed that this could be a sign that Sharon may yet take up her seat on X Factor again, given that her nemesis Dannii Minogue is no longer on the show.

The feud between Dannii, Sharon and Simon escalated when Tom Barker brought out his biography of Simon, which is of course when Simon’s affair with Dannii was revealed…

At the time, Sharon was livid to have been mentioned in the book and told the Mirror she’d been dragged into his “world of debauchery”.

She added, “I’m not Simon’s mother – I don’t give a toss who he f****.

“That’s none of my business. I think Simon thought he’d have complete control over this book.

“But how dare he bring me into it now? I don’t want to be dragged into his little world of debauchery, thank you very much.

“I get on absolutely fine with Simon – and he will be fine – but I am p***** off to be brought into it all again.”

However, since then, things between Sharon and Simon have become a good deal more cordial, and it has, as mentioned above, been mooted that she may return to X Factor next year.

But back to Take the Lead, and it is of course no secret that Simon is a big fan of Pudsey the pooch, who of course won BGT with his owner Ashleigh Butler earlier this year, and Ashleigh will be joining Sharon and Simon on the judges’ bench, along with – somewhat randomly – comedian Bill Bailey.

The Sun reports that Christine Bleakley will host the show after bosses decided against hiring BGT judge Alesha Dixon for fear of a “clash” between the two shows.

A source said, “Simon loves dogs and Pudsey proved that the public do too.

“Sharon and Bill will be great judges alongside Ashleigh.”

The show will air next year on ITV1, but it hasn’t yet been announced exactly when. Are you looking forward to it?

In the meantime, here’s a reminder of Ashleigh and Pudsey on BGT…
