Simon Cowell really is trying to bring back the nostalgia of the old days as Sharon Osbourne has finally signed a £1.8 million deal to join The X Factor’s judging panel.
The X Factor is set to return later this year, and Cowell still hasn’t announced the judging line-up. However, as X Factor fans know, the announcement always comes in the eleventh hour, just before auditions are set to commence.
But, fans can settle down slightly now, as Sharon, 60, has finally signed her contract and WILL be appearing on the panel, according to The Sun.
It is currently unknown who will be sitting next to Sharon this year, as Cowell is frantically trying to revamp the panel after last year’s series haemorrhaged ratings. This could very well be the last year of The X Factor on ITV if Cowell doesn’t pull his socks up (no need to pull them pants up…) as it’s the last year on its current contract.
There were reports recently which indicated that Sharon didn’t know whether to take up the job or not as it may destroy whatever relationship she has left with Ozzy. The pair have been living separate lives in Los Angeles for the last few months as he’s back on the drink and drugs wagon again.
A show insider said: “Sharon’s been through hell lately, so X Factor was not front of mind.
“But she loves the show and missed it. Things with Ozzy have calmed down but they’re a long way off being sorted.”
Meanwhile, Dermot O’Leary has confirmed that the judging panel is “95 per cent there”.
An announcement regarding judges is expected imminently, according to The Sun.
