Katie Waissel took to the X Factor stage tonight and wowed the judges with Bewitched by Ella Fitzgerald.
Cheryl Cole said she wanted Katie to be quirky and entertaining tonight and Dannii Minogue said she should play to her strengths.
Katie took to the stage on a throne, with long white eyelashes, HUGE white hair and sparkly silver eyeshadow.
The performance was very much in the vein of last week’s Jungle Book number. Very swing, very upbeat and very fun. Katie sang every note well and interacted amazingly with her backing dancers. She showed more life than any of the performers before her and much as Katie sometime irritates is massively, once again she pulled one out of the bag this evening. We loved it!
Louis Walsh: Last week was great and this week was just as good. Some people were born to be on the stage and be a performer and you’re one of them. Every week you’re different, you look different, you sound different and you’re happy. I’m glad people are now judging you on your talent.
Dannii Minogue: Last week was definitely your week. You’ve identified your style and you’re bringing it every week. The makeup was a little bit scary tonight and it was a limitless bit distracting from the singing.
Cheryl Cole: That’s what I love about you, You throw yourself into things and put all your heart into it and that shines through. You sang amazingly.
Simon Cowell You are still like a singing scarecrow. I think this competition would be a more boring place without you. I like the fact that you’ve embraced the theme, you’ve shown that you don’t take yourself too seriously, but away from that what was really good was that you’ve chose a really retro song. Your vocal, you’re like Gwen Stefani and once again I think you had a great week. Good for you.
