X Factor 2010: Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zain Malik and Niall Horan form band at bootcamp

Some of the most popular auditionees from this year’s X Factor have been teenage boys such as Liam Payne and Harry Styles.

In the era of Justin Bieber, Simon Cowell recognised the appeal of a cute teenage idol and at this years bootcamp stage, brought together some of the best young male singers and asked them to form a boyband.

Insiders have reported that the group is as yet unnamed and will consist of Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zain Malik and Niall Horan.

Liam Payne was seen making his X Factor comeback on a recent audition show.

The 16 year old singer made it as far as the judges houses stage on the 2008 series of the show, but was sent home by Simon Cowell who claimed that he was too young to cope with fame. When he returned this year and sang Michael Buble’s Cry Me A River for the panel, Simon stood by his decision saying.

“I said to you then, come back two years time and you’ll be a different person. I got it right.”

16 year old Harry Styles was featured on last night’s show, singing Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder for Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and guest judge Nicole Scherzinger. Louis didn’t think he was ready for fame, but Simon enthused:

“The show is designed to find someone like you, whether you’re 16, 17 it doesn’t matter. I think with a bit of vocal coaching you actually could be very good.”

The boys will be seen forming a group in upcoming X Factor episodes. They have attracted thousands of followers and fans since their auditions aired and we’d love to hear what you think of Simon’s decision.
