X Factor 2012 judges houses: Union J say George Shelley was the ‘missing puzzle piece’

by Lisa McGarry

George Shelley has made quite an impression on his new bandmates it would seem.

The 17 year old singer auditioned for the X Factor as a solo singer earlier this year but after bootcamp, he got a call from Louis Walsh asking him to join boyband Triple J – who then changed their name to Union J – and head to Las Vegas for judges houses.

Speaking after their final audition for Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, Jaymi from the band admitted that it was a bit of a roller coaster of emotions, as they were asked to work in another singer. He explained:

“George has only been with us for 3-4 days, so it’s been a roller coaster to say the least.

We weren’t even supposed to be here, so we were given such a life line.”

However it seems like the talented teen is settling into the band quite well and the singer added:

“We already feel like brothers, he is like the missing puzzle piece and we just feel he has made us ten times stronger than we ever were or ever could have been as a three.”

Viewers will see Louis make his final decision tonight and find out if Union J have enough potential as a four piece group to win a place on the live shows.

On what it would mean to them to progress to the final rounds, the Jaymi said:

“It would mean everything, this is what we want so much. Going back to our normal jobs after bootcamp was horrible, reality hit us. This is something that we’ve dreamed of.”
