Nicole Scherzinger has insisted that Rylan Clark does deserve his place on The X Factor.
The X Factor contestant expected to leave last night. he was the bookies favourite to go but he also placed a lot of trust in his psychic who told him that he would be eliminated in the seventh week of the series.
Strangely – or not – Rylan wasn’t even in the bottom two last night and in fact Nicole found herself in the totally unpredictable position of having to introduce her singer James Arthur for his save me song.
James went head to head with Ella Henderson and won, but afterwards a viewer asked Nicole if it should have been Clark in that spot.
Speaking on The Xtra Factor she said:
“I think that Rylan has earned his place here, he is a star in his own right no matter what anybody says and I stick by him.”
The brunette beauty added:
“It’s just a tragedy that James was in the bottom two.”
Scherzinger may not place much stock in the supernatural but she admitted that Rylan even had her convinved that he was leaving yesterday.
“It was weird. Rylan thought he was going home, he said his psychic thought he was going home, so I thought it would be more probable to have him in the bottom two and not James.”
His survival makes Nicole the first X Factor judge to have all her acts still in place, going into the quarter final.
At this stage it’s anyone’s guess who will end up in the final, but we think it’s a fair bet that Scherzinger will have at least one singer in there. In fact we think she will probably win with Jahmene Douglas.
