As you may know, X Factor host Dermot O’Leary and Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack are presenting interviews from the red carpet of the BAFTAs tonight for E! and while the stars Caroline will speak to are likely to be decked out in glamorous gowns and tuxedos, she’ll be wearing “big pants and long johns.”

That is of course in a bid to avoid dying of hypothermia as she and Dermot will be hanging around in the cold tonight as the show is broadcast live from London’s Royal Opera House.

Speaking to TV Biz, Caroline said, “I have got a long dress with long sleeves. I am showing absolutely no flesh — I may as well be in a wet suit…

“I am going to wear long johns — I’m going to have the most attractive underwear on and I am just going to be layered up.

“If I look a bit chunky it’s because it’s cold.”

The paper adds, “Caroline has been doing her homework before meeting stars such as Ben Affleck and Anne Hathaway by watching every movie that has been nominated.”

dermot o'leary, caroline flack,Of that Caroline said, “This research has been really weird. I feel like I have been skiving off school.

“I have been watching them at the weirdest times.”

Her co-host Dermot echoed that when he appeared on Loose Women this week, saying, “I’ve been watching loads of movies, and some of them are quite dark…

“Which is odd over your cornflakes.”

However, Caroline continued, “There will be times, because it is live, when we will just have to talk to people who pass by. But that is part of doing live TV.

“That is what makes it interesting.

“Dermot is really chilled about the whole thing. I send him texts saying I’m nervous and he replies saying it’ll be fine!

“One of my worst fears is just being on my own live and having to ad-lib.

“I might get a few jokes ready… or I might sing.”

Also during the interview, Caroline joked about how she might spend Valentine’s Day.

She said, “I am going to go throw eggs at couples! I might go to the cinema on my own.

“That would be the most depressing thing, wouldn’t it? Watching a really romantic film on my own.”

Live From The Red Carpet: The 2013 EE Baftas airs today from 5.15pm on E! but for now, here’s a look at Dermot and Caroline together on-screen while Corrie star Anthony Cotton lives out one of my personal ambitions…
