Gary Barlow has revealed that he and his fellow judges have touched down in Cardiff for the last round of preliminary X Factor auditions.

The Take That star has signed up for another year on the ITV talent show and so far he, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and returning judge Sharon Osbourne have visited cities such as London, Glasgow and Birmingham to listen to the first batch of hopefuls, desperate to make a career in the music industry.

The first round of tryouts have been held in hotel rooms, with only the panel and crew there to hear the singers’ first acapella performances. Only those deemed good enough will be passed to the next stage, which will take place in front of a 6,000 strong audience in London’s Wembley Arena later this month.

Gary flew in from New York last night and took a morning flight out of the Big Apple, so as to avoid jet lag. He tweeted:

Barlow arrived in Cardiff bright and early and feeling very refreshed this morning and he told his Twitter followers:

“It’s nice here #cardiff”

Nicole Scherzinger is also in Wales and she tweeted her millions of followers, saying:

“The sun is shining down on us in Cardiff today, getting ready for @TheXFactor.”

Xtra Factor star Caroline Flack joined the team and tweeted a few hours ago saying:

The official X factor page has been giving out all the details on the judges’ location, in case fans want to turn up to meet the stars. They posted:

“For a chance to meet Gary, Nicole, Sharon and Louis, head down Holland House, 24-26 Newport Rd in Cardiff from 9.15am on Wednesday. #XFactor”

The team added:

“Good morning Cardiff! Will this year’s #XFactor winner hail from Wales? Show us what you’ve got!”

After this stage, there will be another round of auditions, before bootcamp and then judges houses and in the middle of it all, the new series will kick off on ITV1 next month.
