It’s been revealed today that X Factor judge Gary Barlow’s Take That band mate Mark Owen hopes that the band can land a spot playing at the Glastonbury festival next year.

The Sun reports, “Mark’s been several times as a punter and fancies a crack on the Pyramid Stage alongside his bandmates.”

He said, “I love Glastonbury. I would go there, definitely. We’re all meeting up in a few weeks, so we’ll see.”

However, as it now looks like Gary’s place on The X Factor judging panel is assured for at least this year, Mark may have to put his Glasto aspirations on hold for the time being.

We reported recently that Simon Cowell is having difficulty deciding whether to bring back Sharon Osbourne to join the show’s judging panel this year, or Mel B, however ITV won the battle to keep viewers’ fave, Gary.

And according to the Scottish Daily Record, Simon and Gary have called a truce in their hostilities in order to work together for the good of the show.

An insider said of Simon and Gary, “It is a dramatic turnaround and they have been speaking in the last few weeks.

“ITV have always been big fans of Gary and want to do more TV with him, and Simon now seems to realise he is good on TV, too.”

In December, Gary revealed that he hadn’t spoken to Simon since February. He said, “I don’t talk to Simon – I talk to ITV.

“I met him in February to talk about the next series but that’s it.

“It was the same as last year – once we go on telly, I don’t hear anything…

“I don’t need to speak to anyone during the series. I know what my job is and what I need to do.

“Last year, it was ITV who called me saying they’d like to talk to me about the next series.”

At the time, he added, “To be honest, I don’t know if there is room in my diary for X Factor.”

Well evidently there is, for this year at least!
