X Factor 2013: Insider says Simon Cowell “could now be coming back to the UK version” after X Factor USA flops!

It’s been reported today that X Factor guru Simon Cowell could return to the UK version of the show in 2014 as the current third season of X Factor USA has been branded a “flop” and therefore may not be commissioned again next year.

Apparently, just 6.2million viewers tuned in to see the new series debut on Fox on Wednesday night, and while that may seem a decent enough number, it’s actually a 17% drop in the number of fans who watched the previous year’s season opener.

And as the Mirror reports, that’s “a far cry from the 20 million dad-to-be Cowell insisted he could get when he first launched the show” in America in 2011.

A TV insider said, “Unfortunately for Simon, the US viewers just don’t love The X Factor in the way Brits do.

“Perhaps they’re too used to American Idol, and there’s too much competition with The Voice as well.”

The source added, “Even with changes to the judging panel. it just hasn’t worked…

“Simon was already drinking in the last chance saloon with Fox [so he] could now be coming back to the UK version now next year.

“This blow follows on from Food Glorious Food flopping in the UK, so at the moment he has the reverse Midas touch.”

When the first episode of The X Factor US attracted only 12.5million viewers, Simon confessed that he’d been disappointed.

He remarked, “I’m not going to lie. I wanted 20 million when we launched.

“Now I’m kind of back in the real world and I’m seeing this grow naturally.”

However, an X Factor source denied that the falling ratings were causing dismay backstage, saying, “We’re disappointed, but not downhearted…

“We know we have a good product and just have to win people over and get more of them watching.

“Simon is in a good place and we’re all going to work hard to turn this round.”

What’s your opinion on why X Factor USA isn’t proving to be the big hit everyone thought it would?

For now, here’s a reminder of Simon on the show…

Well there are many reasons why it has flopped here. I was surprised made it past the 1st season. But I think a lot of ppl tuned out and didnt give the show a chance this season because of who they choose to let make it to the judges house and the live shows. A certain 1 or 2 contestants should of made it to the lives and judges house but the show powers didn’t let that happen and THAT pissed A LOT of viewers off and the viewers decided to tune out permanently. The ONLY reason I tuned into this season was because a certain singer decided to audition again if he had not I would of continued my boycott of watching the show and once he wins or goes as far as he does I wont tune in again. I really just think the XFactor isnt as good a show as its competition esp the voice. But ya like said a lot of reasons why show is a flop here.

How to save The X Factor UK? Bring back Simon.
The ratings would go through the roof, I would not be surprised if he does this.

Perhaps if Simon had started X Factor before the Voice it would be more successful. I think the voice copied some of its format from the UK X Factor like the judges mentoring some singers. I liked Simon on American Idol and also on X Factor, but the judges for season 2 & 3 I don’t. I saw it for the first time on Wed night and two of the ladies are so not classy especially Paulina. I can’t stand her calling the contestants “Mama” and Kelly using “boo”. This is national Tv not the “Hood.” Why 3 women I don’t understand. They all act and sound so immature. I feel sorry for Simon having to deal with those girls.

Simon here, Simon there…I think people are tired enough of this show!
