Nicole Scherzinger has confirmed that she is ‘in talks’ to return to The X Factor this year but admitted that she has no idea if Simon Cowell will definitely offer her a seat at on the 2013 panel.
The brunette beauty was assumed to be a safe bet for the new series, considering the fact that she got three out of four acts as far as the semi finals in 2012 and two – Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur – all the way to the last show of year.
However, Simon is apparently planning to shake up the panel and the format for the new run in a bid to boost ratings and it’s still conceivable that Scherzy could be a casualty of his cuts.
Speaking to Star magazine, the Pussycat Dolls star revealed that she would love to come back and work in the UK, saying:
“There’s no official word – everything’s up in the air.
“I had the most shamaze time last year and me and the UK rocked it together.
“You Brits have always been good to me. When I did my first guest judging on the show, you were shamazing to me.”
And when asked if she wanted to make an X Factor comeback, she replied: “If the official talks are right. The UK is my home. You get my music first. I am American, but I’m British at heart.
“I’m still in touch with all my boys. I’m always here for them if they need [me], if they’ve got questions about music and life, and everything they’re going through.”
Nicole of course understands what the contestants are facing, because her career started off on a TV talent show too.
However she recently revealed that she came close to not making it, as she refused to audition for the Popstars show her mother entered her into at first.
Nicole told Notion magazine:
“I was so theatre at the time, I was like, ‘I am not going to be a Spice Girl’. That is just not me.
“I mean I’m a Spice Girls fan now, but at the time I only wore black and I was Goth. I would have been Goth Spice.”
It has been reported today that Nicole may be back on the X Factor for 2013, but only f Simon can manage to whether he wants Sharon Osbourne, Mel B or both to take on judges roles when auditions start in May.
