It comes as no surprise to fans of X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne that she’s outspoken and outrageous…

However, after singer Nicholas McDonald planted a kiss on the cheek of a sexy blonde dancer during the live show at the weekend, Mrs O sparked outrage by saying of the woman, “That paedophile! You’re only 16!”

Viewers immediately took to Twitter to blast Sharon, with one writing, “Some-one please hand Sharon her P45.”

The hoohar began when, after Nicholas had performed and the dancer had left the stage, Sharon joked, “Who on earth was that piece of whatever next to you?

“That paedophile. You’re only 16.

“You can’t be doing that. That’s a disgrace ITV.”

After her controversial comments, one Twitter user wrote, “Can Sharon get away with referring to that dancer as a paedo?”

The Sun’s TV Biz reports, “The dancer declined to comment but a show source said: ‘She’s very embarrassed by what happened’.”

A show spokesman added that Sharon “had been spoken to”.

Some viewers were also angered by Sharon’s actions last night as she pleaded with fellow judge Louis Walsh to save her Overs singer Shelley Smith, who was of course in the bottom two along with boy band Kingsland Road.

Louis had the deciding vote, and as he deliberated, Mrs O planted kisses on his face, pleading with him to save Shelley.

However, he eventually said, “Sharon, you know I love you, but the act I’ve got to save the act I think has the most potential…

“So the act I’m sending home is Shelley.”

At that point, Mrs O jumped out of her seat and ordered Gary Barlow to change places with her so she wasn’t sitting next to Louis.

But harking back to the “paedophile” debacle, were you offended by it?

Personally, while I can see why it would’ve shocked some viewers and been deeply embarrassing to the dancer in question, I don’t believe for a minute that Sharon meant it in any offensive way…

As mentioned above, she’s famous for her outrageous remarks, so can we really go into shock-horror mode when she makes one?

I think not, but what do you think?

Here’s a reminder of Nicholas’s performance on Saturday night…
