Last night, Boys category singer Freddy Parker was voted off The X Factor after judge Simon Cowell send the deciding vote to deadlock.
So Saara Aalto lives to fight another week on X Factor, as does the highly controversial Honey G…
In fact, Honey G wasn’t even in the bottom three this week – again – and so veritably sailed through to next week.
But for every X Factor fan who’s livid that ‘joke’ act Honey G remains in the contest, there’s another who is delighted that she hasn’t been voted off.
And as of right now, the support for Honey G seems to be growing exponentially, with a number of celebrities publically backing her.
For instance, Emmerdale star Danny Miller tweeted, “I am 100% in love with @The_Honey_G if she doesn’t win it I’ll kick off! #WhenISayHoney #G”
Robbie Williams added, “@The_Honey_G = the most entertaining act on @TheXFactorso far: fact x”
And Boyzone singer Shane Lynch wrote online, “When i say honey u say G.. .. @The_Honey_G all da way.. 2 the final FAM.. Ya get me.. FIGHT THE POWER.. Public enemy No1.. Ride or die.”

But it’s not wall-to-wall support for Honey G in the business of show, given Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment tweeted, “Get this stupid Honey G off my TV screen and the worse thing is the judges are stud up applauding her absolute joke #XFactor”

However, despite the fact that Honey G has divided the nation roughly right down the middle, the fact is, I’m becoming more and more convinced that she could actually win this year’s X Factor. And that’s for two reasons, with the first being that some X Factor fans are actually campaigning to have that happen…
Not because they are fans of Honey G – quite the opposite in the fact – but rather it’s in order to demonstrate to X Factor bosses, Simon Cowell included, that the nation is sick of ‘novelty’ acts taking the places of singers who can actually sing and who could therefore be in with a chance of winning.
Because let’s be honest, if Honey G won, who would actually buy her album? Who would actually go to her concerts?
So that, those irate X Factor fans think/hope, will hoist X Factor on its own petard because money and credibility will be lost in spades if Honey G wins.
But then there’s the ever-growing group of X Factor fans who love Honey G, and are genuinely voting for her to remain in the contest…
Therefore, combine the two camps and their collective votes could truly see Honey G win X Factor 2016.
And honestly, at this point, I can see that happening.
What say you?
