Ok, so Twitter fans have worked themselves up into a bit of a state tonight after the X Factor results were announced.
On the ITV results show it was revealed that Katie Waissel and Treyc Cohen had received the lowest amount of public votes and would compete against each other in the sing off.
After Cohen sang ‘Unbreak My Heart’ and Katie took on ‘Don’t Give Up On Me’, and Simon Cowell voted to save Waissel, Cheryl Cole refused to decide between her girls and told Dermot O’Leary:
They’re both talented young women and I’m not sending either of them home Dermot. I’m refusing point blank, ask these two [Danni and Louis] and I’ll take it to deadlock.
However, when Dannii chose to save Treyc and Louis voted to send her home, the vote did not go to deadlock and the 26 year old Tamworth singer was sent home.
After the result was announced Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon tweeted:
I’m soooo confused! What happened to deadlock??? X factor messed up big time!!!
Belle Amie singer Geneva Lane said:
What the hell happened to dead lock?!
Her bandmate Sophia Wardman penned:
Just to clarify Katie is a good person, and we all like her a lot. but shes been in the bottom2 3 times. TreyC deserved another week.
Other disgruntled viewers wrote:
I think it was a miscall by Dermot – Cheryl wanted A vote, to send it to deadlock.
My theory… The judges knew treyc had more votes.. That’s why they didnt want a deadlock .. Katie would have gone.. Katie gets more press
Yes why didn’t it go to deadlock as Cheryl suggested she would and have the public vote now everyone considers it a fix.
Seriously was Dermot drunk? Or the people that play the music? Cheryl said she WOULD send it into deadlock if she had to 😐
Konnie Huq tried to clear things up on The Xtra Factor after the main show. She said:
The reason that the vote didn’t go to deadlock tonight was because Cheryl abstained and then as such, it went to the majority vote as the judges explained.
Do you think Treyc should have left tonight? Has it all been fixed in Katie’s favour? Leave your comments below.
